Another King James Bible Believer

Leviticus 20:10 -  Is there an error not only in the King James Bible but in the Hebrew Text?

Leviticus 20:10  - Is there an error not only in the King James Bible but in the Hebrew Text?

There is another self appointed, “also ran but not sent” version rummaging Bible corrector who seems to have made it his life’s mission to “correct” the King James Bible.

This man claims that not only is the King James Bible in error but that the Hebrew Masoretic Text as well in Leviticus 20:10.

And he also tells us that the Hebrew Text is wrong again for OMITTING a whole verse in Psalms 145:13!

You can see his short video (8 minutes) here on youtube.

He is completely wrong about Psalms 145:13 and here is my article on this verse.

Psalm 145 - Are 15 words missing from God's word in this Psalm?

Psalm 145:13 KJB - "Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations."

ESV (RSV, NIV, Holman, all Catholic Versions) - "Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. THE LORD IS FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS WORDS AND KIND IN ALL HIS WORKS."

Back to Leviticus 20:10

This man tells us that the Hebrew text itself is in error in Leviticus 20:10 for making an unnecessary duplication.  But he then says that we don’t know for sure if it is an error or not, and that there are a lot of unknowns in Textual Criticism.  Such are the ways of the double minded Bible correctors.

The King James Bible reads: “And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, EVEN HE THAT COMMITTETH ADULTERY WITH HIS neighbor’s WIFE, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.”

Versions that OMIT these words are the ESV, NIV 2011 edition, NET version 2006,  the Catholic St. Joseph NAB 1970, the Catholic New Jerusalem bible 1985.

All these words are found in the so called Greek Septuagint, The Hebrew Masoretic Text, Lamsa’s 1933 translation of the Syriac Peshitta, the previous Catholic Douay-Rheims 1610, Tyndale 1525, the Great Bible 1540, Matthew’s bible 1549, the Bishops’ bible 1568, the Geneva Bible 1587, Young’s 1898, the ASV 1901, The Jewish Publication Society Bible 1917, the NKJV 1982, the NASB 1995, Complete Jewish Bible 1998, The Koster Scriptures 1998, The Judaica Press Complete Tanach 2005, The Asser Septuagint 2009, the Orthodox Jewish Bible 2011, Lexham English Bible 2012, The Biblos Bible 2013, the International Standard Version 2014, The Hebrew Names Version 2014, the Modern English Version 2014, The New English Septuagint Translation 2014, Tree of Life Version 2015, and the Holman Standard 2017.

The previous NIVs 1978 and 1984 editions contain these “extra” words, but now the NIV 2011 has omitted them.

The King James Bible and the Hebrew Masoretic texts are NOT in error at all.  There is just an amplification of the information given in the commandment.

He that commits adultery with another man’s wife is further explained by the phrase “with his neighbor’s wife”.

There are many examples of what appear to be “duplications” that help to further explain or to emphasize a certain phrase.

For example -

Psalms 77:1 - “I cried UNTO GOD WITH MY VOICE,  even UNTO GOD WITH MY VOICE;  and he gave ear unto me.”

Psalms 77:16 - “THE WATERS SAW THEE,  O God; THE WATERS SAW THEE; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

Psalms 115:1 - “NOT UNTO US, O Lord, NOT UNTO US, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.”

Psalms 116:16 - “O Lord, truly I AM THY SERVANT; I AM THY SERVANT, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

Psalms 118:11 - "THEY COMPASSED ME ABOUT; yea, THEY COMPASSED ME ABOUT; but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them."

Psalms 130:6 - "My soul waiteth for the LORD more than THEY THAT WATCH FOR THE MORNING: I say, more than THEY THAT WATCH FOR THE MORNING." (See ESV, NIV)

Numbers 5:24 - ‘And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter WATER THAT CAUSETH THE CURSE; and THE WATER THAT CAUSETH THE CURSE shall enter into her, and become bitter.”

Numbers 15:41 - “I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD.”

Joshua 22:22 - "THE LORD GOD OF GODS, THE LORD GOD OF GODS, he knowers; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)"

Judges 5:23 - “Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the Lord, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not TO THE HELP OF THE LORD, TO THE HELP OF THE LORD against the mighty.”

Judges 5:27 - "AT HER FEET HE BOWED, HE FELL, he lay down: AT HER FEET HE BOWED, HE FELL: where he bowed, there he fell down dead."

Judges 5:30 - “Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera A PREY OF DIVERS COLOURS, A PREY OF DIVERS COLOURS of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?”

1 Kings 18:39 - “And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, THE LORD HE IS THE GOD; THE LORD, HE IS THE GOD.”

Job 19:21 - “HAVE PITY UPON ME, HAVE PITY UPON ME,  O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.”

Isaiah 8:9 - “Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: GIRD YOURSELVES, AND YE SHALL BE BROKEN IN PIECES; GIRD YOURSELVES, AND YE SHALL BE BROKEN IN PIECES.”

Isaiah 21:11 - “The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, WATCHMAN, WHAT OF THE NIGHT? WATCHMAN, WHAT OF THE NIGHT?”

Isaiah 57:14 - “ And shall say, CAST YE UP, CAST YE UP,  prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.”

Jeremiah 7:4 - “Trust ye not in lying words, saying, THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD, THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD, THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD,  are these.”

Jeremiah 23:25 - “ I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I HAVE DREAMED, I HAVE DREAMED.”

Nahum 1:2 - “God is jealous, and THE LORD REVENGETH; THE LORD REVENGETH,  and is furious; the LORD WILL TAKE VENGEANGE on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.”

Acts 7:34 - “ I HAVE SEEN, I HAVE SEEN the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.”

Revelation 8:13 - “And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, WOE, WOE, WOE, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

Revelation 18:2 - “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great IS FALLEN, IS FALLEN, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”

Don’t listen to the “Every Man For Himself Bible Versionists” and their presumptuous “expertise” and personal opinions.  Not one of them will EVER show you a copy of a complete and 100% true Bible in any language.

Each one of these version rummagers is still working on putting one together for us, and nobody else always agrees with their “findings”.

Run from them like your hair were on fire, and get yourself the tried and true King James Holy Bible, the ONLY one seriously believed by thousands of God’s redeemed people to be the complete and inerrant words of God.

ALL of grace, believing the book,

Will Kinney
