‘That’ or ‘which’?
“Do you sometimes wonder whether to use that or which in a sentence? In many cases, in British English, both words are equally correct.
√ She held out the hand which was hurt.
√ She held out the hand that was hurt.
In these sentences, that and which are introducing what’s known as a restrictive relative clause. This is a clause containing essential information about the noun that comes before it. If you leave out this type of clause, the meaning of the sentence is affected – indeed, it will probably not make much sense at all. Restrictive relative clauses can be introduced by that, which, whose, who, or whom.”
So with British English we can use either “which” or “that” to refer to either people or things.
In Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ WHICH strengtheneth me.” the word “which” can refer to either the Person of Christ Himself, or to the whole phrase “I can do all things through Christ.”

As for Romans 8:1 “There is now no condemnation to them WHICH are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

There are numerous examples in the King James Bible and other earlier English translations where they use the word “WHICH” to refer to people. Too many to list. Here are a few examples:
Matthew 4:16 “the people WHICH sat in darkness saw great light”
We see examples where BOTH words are used in the same sense. As in
Matthew 4:24 “and they brought unto him all sick people THAT were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those WHICH were possessed with devils, and those WHICH were lunatic, and those THAT had the palsy.”
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they WHICH do hunger and thirst after righteousness”
Matthew 5:12 “the prophets WHICH were before you”
Matthew 5:16 “glorify your Father WHICH is in heaven”
Matthew 5:44 “pray for them WHICH despitefully use you”
Matthew 5:46 - “For if ye love them WHICH love you”
Matthew 5:48 “Father WHICH is in heaven is perfect”
