The Free Willer’s god [OF THE WHITE SPACES]
The Free Willer’s god [OF THE WHITE SPACES]
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN CHRIST, According as HE HATH CHOSEN US IN HIM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love; HAVING PREDESTINATED US UNTO THE ADOPTION OF CHILDREN BY JESUS CHRIST TO HIMSELF, ACCORDING TO THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL, To the praise of the glory of HIS GRACE, wherein HE HATH MADE US ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED.” Ephesians 1:3-6
“ALL that the Father giveth me SHALL COME TO ME; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6:37
"And THIS is THE FATHER'S WILL which hath sent me, THAT ALL OF THEM WHICH HE HATH GIVEN ME I SHOULD LOSE NOTHING, but should raise it up again at the last day." John 6:39
“As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life TO AS MANY AS THOU HAST GIVEN HIM.” John 17:2
“And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: AND AS MANY AS WERE ORDAINED TO ETERNAL LIFE BELIEVED.” Acts 13:48
For those of us to whom God has given eyes to see and ears to hear, the King James Holy Bible is crystal clear that GOD is the one who did the choosing and the predestinating unto the adoption of children to himself.
See "Did you choose God or did He choose you?"
Man’s vaunted and imaginary “free will” had nothing to do with this choice that was done BEFORE the foundation of the world. And NOT ONE whom the Father has already given to the Son, and for whom the Son made his soul an offering for sin, will ever perish or be lost.
Yet the “natural man” (1 Corinthians 2:14) HATES the doctrines of God’s election of grace, and will do anything in his power to twist, change, alter and “explain away” what the Bible clearly says, all in an effort to hang on to their belief that somehow THEY had something to do with or contribute to the work of Christ in order to make it of any real effect.
They have created a god of their own imaginations and after their own likeness. He is NOT the God who has revealed Himself to us in the Holy Scriptures.
Their “free will” theology ALWAYS creates lots of contradictions in the Scriptures, and they end up making the Lord Jesus Christ out to be a Liar and colossal Failure, who did NOT do what he said he came to do - to save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)
Their universal mantra goes something like: “I chose of my own free will to believe and THAT is what made all the difference between me and the guy who is finally lost.”
So, what they invariably end up doing is to read into the [WHITE SPACES] - those blank spots found between the words in God’s Book - and they do this by filling in their own thoughts and personal opinions.
Here are some examples I have run into time and again, and underneath each example is a link to an article from the Monergism (Calvinism) side of things, where we do NOT have to read the [WHITE SPACES] but simply believe what THE TEXT says.
# 1. John 3:16 -
“For God so loved [EVERY PERSON WHO WILL EVER BE BORN INTO] the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever [OF HIS OWN FREE WILL] believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
See also "Why do some believe the gospel and others do not?"
# 2. 1 John 2:2 -
“And he is the [POTENTIAL] propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole [NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO WILL EVER BE BORN INTO THE] world."
# 3. I Timothy 2:3-4 -
"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men [WHO CHOOSE TO MAKE A DECISION TO ACCEPT CHRIST] to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
# 4. 2 Peter 3:9 -
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is long-suffering to us [-EVERY PERSON WHO EVER LIVES] ward, not willing that any [PERSON WHO EVER LIVES] should perish, but that all [MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN WITHOUT EXCEPTION] should come to repentance.”
# 5. Revelation 22:17 -
“Whosoever will [BE WILLING BY HIS OWN CHOICE TO COME], let him take the water of life freely.”
# 6. 1 Peter 1:2 -
“Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father [WHO SAW THAT THERE WOULD BE SOME WHO WOULD MAKE A FREE WILL CHOICE TO BELIEVE], through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied."
# 7. Acts 13:48 -
“And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: AND AS MANY AS WERE ORDAINED TO ETERNAL LIFE BELIEVED.”
The reason I include this one in the list is because I have now had more than one professing King James Bible believer tell me that this is an improper translation and that it REALLY SHOULD READ - “as many AS WERE DISPOSED TO eternal life believed.”
They are so opposed to the clear teachings of Scripture that it is God’s choice and not theirs as to who gets redeemed, reconciled and forgiven, that they are even willing to become Bible correctors.
Here is my article on this verse, that reads virtually the same in almost every Bible translation ever made.
One last point, for now. I mentioned earlier that the “free will” position always ends up making Jesus Christ out to be liar and a failure for not doing what he said he would do.
For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, and who can simply connect the dots in a logical argument and come to the only possible conclusion there is, here is my article “Who is Lying? Jesus Christ or the “Free Willers”?
ALL of grace, believing the Book - the King James Holy Bible.
